2021.

Woof.

Can you relate?

It’s hard to find words for a year that was so impactful, that was so up and down in so many ways.

So here’s the raw recap.

The breakup after a long-term relationship. The waves of emotions that come with that. The questions, the pain, the evaluation of your self worth, and then finally the acceptance, the well wishes, and the personal development.

Letting go:

- Letting go of expectations

- Letting go of the past you

- Letting go of attachments

- Dancing with the skeletons in the closet and letting them fly free as well

The unexpected death of a family dog.

A cross-country road trip with my best friend (aka brother).

New connections. New relationships. New opportunities.

Work. Lot’s of work.

New piercings.

Trips to Nebraska.

Self-Dates.

I picked up my violin for the first time in several years.

A trip to Montana. Seeing my best friend for the first time in two years.

Trips to California.

Trips to the hills.

Roller blading with the doggo.

My horse’s 21st birthday.

My horse’s death.

The death of something inside of me.

The traumatizing death of another horse I cared for deeply.

Two-person paddle boarding.

Learning how to mountain bike.

Cheering on friends and family in their events.

Having philosophical conversations.

Learning how to say no.

Photo shoots.

Weddings.

Being the shoulder through divorces.

Attending a fashion show.

Taking on a new horse.

My first horse show.

More trips to the hills.

Lifting so many weights.

Taking goofy gym videos with my gym bestie.

Starting a podcast with a bestie.

Earning my Reiki Healing Certification.

Quitting my job and accepting a new.

So. Many. Tears, laughs, and smiles—both painful and genuine.

5 things that 2021 taught me:

1. Not everyone can be trusted. Not everyone has pure intentions.

2. The people who wish you genuine happiness and do their best to contribute to that are your angels on earth.

3. Everything. EVERYTHING. Is temporary.

4. I love my guy friends but there’s something so special about a girl gang.

5. One of the greatest gifts you can give someone is your time.

Out of everything, the most important thing that I’ll take out of this year are the genuine connections I have made. It’s been a beautiful reminder that it’s okay to lean on the people who care about you, and care for you. It’s okay to ask for help. It’s okay to accept a warm meal when you’re too exhausted to make yourself one. Thank you to my family, and my small-circle community for helping me navigate the rapid changes that happened this past year. I’m looking forward to our 2022s <3
